Hailed for her “excellence, purity of voice, and emotional intensity,”Dr. Sophie Louise Rolandhas appeared in leading roles including Maddalena, Maurya (Riders to the Sea), Carmen, Dido and the Sorceress (Dido and Æneas), Storgè (Jephtha), Suzuki, Cornelia (Giulio Cesare), Nicklausse (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), La Prieure (Dialogues des Carmélites), Dame Quickly (Falstaff), La Mère (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), and Luna in the North American premiere ofJeppeby Sven-David Sandström. Her performances have taken her across North America and Europe, and she is delighted to be returning to London for this performance.

Dr. Roland serves asProfessor of Music and Chair of the Department of Music Performance Studiesin the Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University. Her students have earned top prizes in national and international competitions and have published their research in leading peer-reviewed journals, reflecting her commitment to artistry, scholarship, and mentorship of the next generation of musicians.
